Top-class convection technology for mixed and flexible production of tempered flat glass

Thanks to the innovative, patented CHAMOS™ 3D full convection system, the modular CTF truly stands apart from conventional furnaces when it comes to results and the way it works. We have used this equipment to build the world’s largest tempering furnace, which produces visually flawless glass that tops the quality rankings and impresses with its outstanding isotropy values. Systematic quality inspection techniques such as scanner checks have also proven that the glass tempered or heat-strengthened in the CTF is as perfect as glass can be.

Functional description

The Chamos™ 3D – three-dimensional full-convection system – slots in alongside an array of other patents as one of the highlights of the CTF flat-glass furnace. In the first dimension, the heat energy is transferred to the air in the convection boxes and then emitted into the interior via the ventilation system. The precise furnace control system monitors the heat transfer to the glass at a cellular level and regulates the rotation speed of the fans. Thanks to the precise, patented nozzle height adjustment system – the third dimension of the convection system –, the energy is transferred evenly and homogenously at a level that suits the end product perfectly. When it comes to ensuring the quality of tempered and heat-strengthened glass, proper cooling at the end of the process is just as important as heat transfer. This is achieved using the TaiFin quenching system. The flat glass produced by the CTF is subjected to repeated testing, analysis, and quality verification using Arcon, Viprotron, and Litesentry scanners.
